Lesson 07

Big sound, small ears

Sound is energy, and your ears are delicate. Loud music for a long time can hurt them — and ears do not heal like a scraped knee.

Make a prediction

Safe Listening Lab

If you move the speaker twice as far away, will it sound a little quieter or a lot quieter?

1

Turn it down, not up

If you have to shout so a friend right beside you can hear, the music is too loud. Turn it down until you can talk normally.

2

Give your ears breaks

Long listening tires your ears. Take a quiet break every hour. Quiet time is how ears rest.

3

Step back

Move BoomBrix a little further away. Sound spreads out as it travels, so a bit of distance makes a big difference.

Hear it for yourself.

Everything you just learned happens inside BoomBrix, the speaker that snaps onto your builds.
